UcoeRM, one of the Partners of our Better Cooperate Project, (Unión de Cooperativas de Enseñanza de la Región de Murcia / Związek Spółdzielni Nauczycielskich Regionu Murcji) is the organizer of a cyclical event for students active in the field of cooperatives.

The 5th Fair and Exhibition of student cooperatives (school cooperatives) took place on March 8, 2024. The event was attended by 2,000 people, including students, teachers and guests.

More than 800 students aged 7 to 18 represented 33 school cooperatives at 36 stands located on Paseo Alfonso X in Murcia.

As the President of UcoeRM, Juan Antonio Pedreño, said at the event – their organisation is working to make Murcia the Spanish capital of the social economy in 2025.

The event was attended by the cooperatives Ana María Matute (Era Alta, Murcia), Carlos V (Águilas), Cipriano Galea (La Ñora, Murcia), Cruz de Piedra (Jumilla), El Ope (Archena), El Taller (Molina de Segura), Fahuaran (Abarán), Herma (El Carmen, Murcia), Jaime Balmes (Cieza), José Loustao (El Carmen, Murcia), Juan Ramón Jiménez (Cieza), Los Olivos (Molina de Segura), Luis Vives (Nonduermas, Murcia) , Majal Blanco (Santomera), Miralmonte (Cartagena), Our Lady of the Angels (Sangonera la Verde), Sabina Mora (La Unión), Sagrada Familia (Molina de Segura), Samaniego (Alcantarilla), San Agustín (Fuente Álamo), San Francisco de Asís (Yecla), Siglo XXI (Mazarrón), Vega Media (Alguazas) and Vistarreal (Molina de Segura).

The presented products and services offered by school (student) cooperatives included: canvas bags, handbags, decorations and jewelry, as well as souvenirs made from recycled materials or 3D printed items. Confectionery cooperatives and cooperatives related to the agri-food sector were also presented, as well as, among others, a digital newspaper, a DNA extraction initiative, an aviation project and a solar car.

UcoeRM is the organization representing cooperative educational enterprises in the Region of Murcia (located in south-eastern Spain). The union represents a total of 62 cooperatives. Educational cooperatives constitute almost 50% of all existing Education Centers in the Region of Murcia.
