A cooperative print-and-play board game for 3-12 players about building a community from scratch.

Your crew of dreamers and rebels has finally reached an uninhabited island, only to be abandoned there by Captain Last Plank, who takes the Legendary Treasure and gives you just one year to prove yourselves. Over 12 rounds (months), you work together to build a thriving settlement and a strong, well-functioning community.

Each round, the team spends a limited pool of points on Work, Social, and Development challenges. These mix quick team tasks (acting, drawing, guessing), dice rolls, and moral dilemmas with real consequences. Every player takes on a character from one of three factions: Craftspeople, Good Souls, or Scholars. Each faction has its own role to play, so everyone’s contribution matters. To win, you must reach at least 10 points on both the Settlement and Community development tracks. Will you build a place so good that you no longer want to leave?

Pirate Dream is part of an educational package on social entrepreneurship, developed under the Erasmus+ project “Better Cooperate!” (“Education through the values of the social economy as a way to strengthen society”). It teaches cooperation, shared decision-making, and the values of the social economy through play, and is available in the languages of all project partners.
